Ingredients

  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup of feta cheese
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup of chopped spinach
  • 1/2 cup of ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the feta cheese, ricotta cheese, and eggs. Divide the mixture into two equal parts.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the chopped spinach, ground beef, chopped onion, and salt and pepper.
  4. Brush a baking dish with olive oil. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough in the dish and brush it with olive oil. Repeat with 5 more sheets, brushing each with olive oil.
  5. Spread one part of the cheese mixture over the phyllo dough. Top with another layer of phyllo dough, brushed with olive oil.
  6. Spread the spinach and beef mixture over the phyllo dough. Top with another layer of phyllo dough, brushed with olive oil.
  7. Spread the remaining cheese mixture over the phyllo dough. Top with the remaining phyllo dough sheets, brushing each with olive oil.
  8. Cut the burek into squares or triangles, then bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
