Ball Peach Jam
Ball Peach Jam is a delightful and versatile spread that can be enjoyed on toast, in yogurt, or as a topping for desserts. This recipe yields a delicious jam with a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess.
Ingredients
- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 package (1.75 oz) powdered fruit pectin
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chopped peaches and lemon juice. Gradually stir in the pectin until fully dissolved.
- Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
- Once boiling, add the sugar and continue to stir. Allow the mixture to return to a rolling boil and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove the pot from the heat and skim off any foam from the surface of the jam.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace. Wipe the jar rims and cover with sterilized lids.
- Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes. Remove the jars and let them cool before storing.
