Balochi Bharwan Shimla Mirch is a traditional dish from the Balochi cuisine, featuring stuffed bell peppers cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup minced meat
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the minced meat and cook until browned.
- Add the tomatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Stir in the cooked rice and mix well. Remove from heat.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the meat and rice mixture.
- Heat the remaining oil in a pan and place the stuffed bell peppers. Cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the peppers are tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
