Balochi Gosht Handi (balochi Style Beef Handi)

Ingredients

  • 500g beef, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a handi or deep cooking pot.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  3. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  5. Add beef cubes and cook until they are browned.
  6. Now add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil separates from the masala.
  7. Whisk yogurt and add it to the pot. Cook for a few minutes until the oil separates again.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with naan or rice.
