Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add the ginger and garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.
- Add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the water, cover the pot, and let the stew simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the lamb is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
