Balochi Gosht Ka Salan (balochi Style Lamb Stew)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger and garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.
  3. Add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the water, cover the pot, and let the stew simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the lamb is tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
