Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger and garlic paste, and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Now add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt.
  5. Pour in the water, cover the pot, and let the curry simmer for 1 hour or until the lamb is tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
