Balochi Gosht Kofta Curry (balochi Style Beef Kofta Curry)
Balochi Gosht Kofta Curry is a traditional dish from the Balochi cuisine, known for its rich and flavorful spices. This dish features tender beef koftas (meatballs) cooked in a delicious curry, perfect to be enjoyed with naan or rice.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp oil
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, fresh coriander, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Shape the mixture into small koftas (meatballs).
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the koftas until they are golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the tomato puree and cook for a few minutes. Then add the yogurt and cook until the oil separates.
- Now add water and bring the curry to a gentle simmer. Carefully add the fried koftas to the curry and let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with naan or rice.
