Balochi Gosht Korma (balochi Style Mutton Korma)
Balochi Gosht Korma is a traditional mutton korma dish from the Balochi Cuisine, known for its rich and aromatic flavors. This recipe combines tender mutton with a blend of aromatic spices, creating a hearty and delicious dish that is perfect for special occasions or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 large onions, finely sliced
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup ghee or oil
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee or oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the mutton pieces and sauté until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in enough water to cover the mutton and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 45-50 minutes or until the mutton is tender.
- Add the slit green chilies and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
