Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
- Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
- Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan, stirring continuously to avoid curdling.
- Add water and bring the curry to a gentle simmer.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 5-7 minutes or until they are pink and cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
