Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
- Stir in the tomato puree, yogurt, and all the spices. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let the curry simmer for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is tender and the flavors are well blended.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
