Balochi Murgh Handi (balochi Style Chicken Handi)

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a handi or deep pan, and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until the water dries up and the chicken is tender.
  4. Now, add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the fresh cream and garam masala. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
