Balochi Murgh Karahi (balochi Style Chicken Karahi)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a karahi or deep cooking pan.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste, and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chicken pieces and cook until they change color.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil separates.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  7. Serve hot with naan or rice.
