Ingredients
- 3 cups rye flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp instant yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the rye flour, all-purpose flour, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let the bread cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
