Baltic Sea Sprat Sandwich (Baltijos jūros šprotų sumuštinis)

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 1 can of Baltic Sea sprats
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Open the can of Baltic Sea sprats and drain the oil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and chopped fresh dill. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  4. Divide the sliced onion evenly and place on two slices of bread.
  5. Top the onion with the Baltic Sea sprats and sliced hard-boiled eggs.
  6. Cover with the remaining slices of bread to make two sandwiches.
  7. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the pan and serve immediately.
