Ingredients
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups heavy cream
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the honey, sugar, and butter. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually add the honey mixture while continuing to beat.
- Add the baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and flour to the egg mixture. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll each part into a thin circle. Bake each layer on a greased baking sheet at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Spread a layer of whipped cream on each baked honey cake layer and stack them on top of each other.
- Spread the remaining whipped cream on the top and sides of the cake. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
