Ingredients

  • 500g bamboo shoot, sliced
  • 200g smoked fish, flaked
  • 3 medium potatoes, diced
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until the onions are golden brown.
  2. Add the sliced bamboo shoot and diced potatoes. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients. Cover and cook until the bamboo shoot and potatoes are tender.
  5. Add the flaked smoked fish and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot with steamed rice.
