Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 lb okra, trimmed and sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Season the beef with salt, pepper, coriander, cumin, cayenne pepper, and turmeric.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the seasoned beef and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Add the sliced okra to the pot and continue to simmer for an additional 20 minutes, or until the okra is tender.
