Ingredients
- 1 lb lamb, cut into cubes
- 1 lb fresh okra, trimmed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add the lamb cubes to the pot and brown on all sides.
- Stir in the minced garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the broth and bring the stew to a simmer. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
- Add the trimmed okra to the pot and continue to simmer for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the lamb is tender and the okra is cooked through.
- Adjust the seasoning if needed and serve the Bamieh Bil Lahmeh hot, accompanied by rice or pita bread.
