Banjar Beef Soup Bliss (soto Banjar Bliss)

Ingredients

  • 500g beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 stalks lemongrass, smashed
  • 4 kaffir lime leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 200g bean sprouts
  • 200g vermicelli noodles, cooked
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, halved
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the pot and cook until browned.
  3. Pour in 2 liters of water and add the smashed lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. To serve, divide the cooked vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts, and hard-boiled eggs into serving bowls. Ladle the hot beef soup over the ingredients in each bowl.
