Banjar Beef Soup Bliss (soto Banjar Bliss)
Soto Banjar Bliss is a traditional beef soup from the Javanese cuisine that is bursting with flavors and spices. This hearty and comforting soup is perfect for any time of the year.
Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 2 stalks lemongrass, smashed
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 200g bean sprouts
- 200g vermicelli noodles, cooked
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, halved
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the pot and cook until browned.
- Pour in 2 liters of water and add the smashed lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To serve, divide the cooked vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts, and hard-boiled eggs into serving bowls. Ladle the hot beef soup over the ingredients in each bowl.
