Ingredients

  • 2 cups Maridi millet
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, or peanuts)
  • 1/2 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, or chopped apricots)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the Maridi millet on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden and fragrant. Let it cool.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the toasted millet, chopped nuts, dried fruits, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a small saucepan, warm the honey and peanut butter over low heat until smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour the honey and peanut butter mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until everything is well coated.
  5. Press the mixture into a lined 9x9 inch (23x23 cm) baking pan, pressing down firmly to create an even layer.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into 12 bars.
