Ingredients
- 2 cups barley flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the barley flour, all-purpose flour, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the honey and warm water until the honey is dissolved.
- Pour the honey water and olive oil into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased bread pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the bread for 35-40 minutes, or until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
