Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are coated evenly.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture to a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and cold butter. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in the sliced almonds and sprinkle the mixture over the apples in the pie dish.
