Ingredients
- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are coated evenly.
- Transfer the apple mixture to a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and cold butter. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the sliced almonds and sprinkle the mixture over the apples in the pie dish.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before serving.
