Ingredients
- 4 pretzel buns
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup beer
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 patties.
- Grill the burger patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the beer cheese sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly pour in the beer while whisking constantly. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, milk, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Continue to cook and stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Toast the pretzel buns on the grill or in a toaster oven.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of each pretzel bun. Spoon the beer cheese sauce over the patties and cover with the top half of the pretzel bun.
