牛腩盛宴 (Beef Brisket Bonanza) is a classic Hong Kong dish that is rich in flavor and tender in texture. This slow-cooked beef brisket dish is perfect for a hearty family meal or a special gathering with friends.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef brisket, cut into large chunks
- 3 slices ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 4 cups water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, star anise, and cinnamon stick. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add beef brisket chunks to the pot and brown on all sides.
- Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Stir to coat the beef.
- Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 3 hours, or until the beef is tender.
- Once the beef is tender, remove the lid and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the beef brisket hot with steamed rice or noodles.
