Beef Chow Fun
Beef Chow Fun is a classic Cantonese dish featuring tender beef, wide rice noodles, and crisp vegetables stir-fried in a savory sauce. This recipe is a delicious and satisfying option for a quick and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 pound wide rice noodles
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups bean sprouts
- 3 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak the rice noodles in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in the wok. Add the garlic, onion, and green onions, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the bean sprouts and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
- Add the soaked rice noodles to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and vegetables. Add the cooked beef back to the wok. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the Beef Chow Fun to a serving platter and serve hot.
