Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 red bell peppers, diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.
  2. Add the chopped onions to the pot and sauté until they are soft and translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Return the browned beef to the pot. Add the diced red bell peppers, tomato paste, paprika, caraway seeds, and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let the goulash simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  5. Adjust the seasoning if needed and serve the beef goulash hot, accompanied by your choice of side dishes.
