Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced beef and cook until browned. Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir to coat.
- Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Transfer the beef and sauce to a baking dish. Top with the caramelized onions and sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
