Beef in Spicy Sauce, also known as Ají de Carne, is a popular dish in Peruvian Chinese cuisine. This flavorful and spicy beef dish is a fusion of Chinese and Peruvian flavors, creating a unique and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 ají amarillo peppers, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the tomatoes, ají amarillo peppers, soy sauce, vinegar, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return the beef to the pan and add the beef broth. Simmer for 45 minutes or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
