Beef Stroganoff (tatar Beef Stroganoff)
Beef Stroganoff, also known as Tatar Beef Stroganoff, is a classic dish from Tatar cuisine that features tender beef strips in a creamy mushroom sauce, served over egg noodles. This hearty and comforting meal is perfect for a cozy family dinner or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the same skillet. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their liquid and become golden brown.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles.
