Beef Wellington Elegance
Beef Wellington is a classic British dish that exudes elegance and sophistication. This recipe combines tender beef, savory mushrooms, and flaky puff pastry to create a show-stopping main course perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds beef tenderloin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound mushrooms, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the beef tenderloin with salt and pepper. In a hot skillet, sear the beef on all sides until browned. Remove from the skillet and let it cool.
- In the same skillet, heat the olive oil and sauté the mushrooms, garlic, and parsley until the mushrooms release their liquid and it evaporates. Season with salt and pepper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place the mushroom mixture in the center. Lay the seared beef on top and wrap the pastry around the beef, sealing the edges. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
- Place the wrapped beef on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the beef reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Let the Beef Wellington rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
