Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) lamb leg, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 12 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, and vegetable oil.
  2. Add the lamb cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated lamb cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  5. Grill the lamb skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions and cilantro before serving.
