Ingredients
- 1 lb beef brisket, thinly sliced
- 8 cups beef broth
- 4 slices ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 8 oz fresh or dried wheat noodles
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- In a pot, bring the beef broth to a boil.
- Add the beef brisket, ginger, and garlic to the pot. Reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours until the beef is tender.
- Remove the beef from the pot and set aside. Strain the broth and return it to the pot.
- Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, Chinese five-spice powder, sugar, and white pepper. Bring the broth back to a simmer.
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and divide among serving bowls.
- Top the noodles with the cooked beef slices and ladle the hot broth over the beef and noodles.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
