Beijing Style Spicy Chicken Feet (辣子鸡爪)
This spicy and flavorful dish is a popular Beijing street food, featuring tender chicken feet cooked in a spicy sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken feet
- 2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 3-4 dried red chilies
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Chinese black vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- Wash the chicken feet and trim the nails. Place them in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chicken feet and fry until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
- In the same wok, add the Sichuan peppercorns and dried red chilies. Stir-fry until fragrant, then add the garlic and green onions.
- Return the chicken feet to the wok, then add the soy sauce, Chinese black vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir well to coat the chicken feet.
- Cover and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the chicken feet are tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional chopped green onions, if desired.
