Ingredients

  • 4 beef ribs
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 bottles of Belgian beer
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Season the beef ribs with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the beef ribs on all sides until browned, then remove from the pot and set aside.
  5. Add the onions, carrots, and celery to the pot and cook until softened.
  6. Add the garlic and flour, and cook for another minute.
  7. Pour in the Belgian beer and beef broth, then return the beef ribs to the pot.
  8. Cover the pot and transfer to the preheated oven.
  9. Braise the beef ribs for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  10. Remove the pot from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
