Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 200g Serbian feta cheese
- 4 slices of prosciutto
- 1 loaf of crusty bread
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- 1 onion
- 1 tomato
- 1 cucumber
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup walnuts
Instructions
- Start by preparing the ingredients. Slice the red pepper, green pepper, onion, tomato, and cucumber.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced peppers and onion, and sauté until they are soft and slightly caramelized.
- While the peppers and onion are cooking, toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a griddle until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once the peppers and onion are cooked, crack the eggs into the skillet and cook them to your desired doneness.
- As the eggs are cooking, assemble the rest of the ingredients on a large platter. Arrange the slices of prosciutto, feta cheese, tomato, cucumber, and toasted bread.
- Drizzle the honey over the feta cheese and sprinkle the walnuts on top.
- Season the eggs with salt and pepper, then carefully transfer them to the platter.
- Serve the Beogradski Doručak family-style, allowing everyone to help themselves to the different components of the meal.
