Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 20 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the shallots, garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric powder, sweet soy sauce, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the chicken skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the Betawi Chicken Satay hot with steamed rice, peanut sauce, and pickles.
