Betawi Mixed Rice (betawi Nasi Pecel)
Betawi Mixed Rice, or Betawi Nasi Pecel, is a traditional dish from the Betawi cuisine of Indonesia. This flavorful mixed rice dish is a combination of various ingredients, creating a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of rice
- 200g of tempeh, sliced
- 200g of tofu, diced
- 1 cup of long beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 cup of bean sprouts
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, halved
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 4 tablespoons of fried shallots
- 4 tablespoons of peanut sauce
- 4 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce
- 4 red chili peppers, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the rice and cook it in a rice cooker or pot.
- In a pan, fry the tempeh and tofu until golden brown. Set aside.
- Blanch the long beans and bean sprouts in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Arrange the cooked rice, fried tempeh, tofu, blanched vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, and sliced cucumber on serving plates.
- Drizzle with peanut sauce and sweet soy sauce. Garnish with fried shallots and sliced chili peppers if desired.
