Betawi Rice With Fermented Soybean (betawi Nasi Tutug Oncom)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cooked white rice
  • 1 cup of oncom (fermented soybean)
  • 3 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon of tamarind paste
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the shallots, garlic, and red chilies. Sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the oncom and tamarind paste. Cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked white rice to the pan. Mix well with the oncom mixture.
  5. Season with salt to taste. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the rice is heated through and well combined with the oncom mixture, remove from heat.
  7. Serve the Betawi Nasi Tutug Oncom hot and enjoy!
