Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 medium tomato, cut into wedges
  • 1 cup chayote squash, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 cup long beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 3-4 pieces of tamarind pulp
  • 3 tablespoons palm sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add the tomato, chayote squash, long beans, and corn. Cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the cabbage, tamarind pulp, palm sugar, and salt. Simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Adjust the taste by adding more salt or sugar if needed.
  5. Serve the soup hot with steamed rice.
