Bharli Mirchi (भरली मिरची)

Ingredients

  • 8-10 large green chilies
  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp amchur (dry mango powder)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing)
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and slit the green chilies lengthwise. Remove the seeds and keep aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, amchur, garam masala, and salt.
  3. Stuff the green chilies with the besan mixture and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Saute for a minute.
  5. Add the stuffed green chilies and cook on low heat, covered, until the chilies are tender and the besan is cooked.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
