Bharuchi Paneer (भरुची पनीर)

Bharuchi Paneer (भरुची पनीर)

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer, cubed
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes. Then, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
  4. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  5. Add the cubed paneer and mix gently. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat.
  6. Finally, add fresh cream and salt. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
