Bharwan Shimla Mirch (stuffed Bell Peppers)

Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 cup cooked minced meat (chicken or beef)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes from the inside.
  3. In a pan, heat the cooking oil and add cumin seeds. Sauté until they crackle.
  4. Add the chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  5. Next, add the minced meat, tomatoes, peas, mashed potatoes, and all the spices. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mixture is well combined.
  6. Stuff the bell peppers with the prepared mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bell peppers are tender and the filling is cooked through.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
