Ingredients
- 1 lb pork, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups Bhutanese cheese, cubed
- 4-5 green chili peppers, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the pork pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the turmeric, cumin powder, and salt.
- Add the sliced chili peppers and chopped tomato. Cook for a few minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
- Pour in the water and bring the stew to a simmer. Cover and cook for 45 minutes, or until the pork is tender.
- Add the cubed cheese and stir gently until the cheese is melted and the stew has thickened.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
