Ingredients
- 1 lb dried beef, thinly sliced
- 2 cups spicy cheese, grated
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 green chilies, sliced
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the dried beef slices and sauté until they are browned and crispy.
- Add the chopped onion, diced tomatoes, and green chilies to the pan. Cook until the vegetables are soft.
- Stir in the turmeric, cumin, and coriander powders, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the grated spicy cheese to the pan and stir until it melts and forms a creamy sauce.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and serve the Bhutanese Dried Beef with Cheese hot, accompanied by red rice.
