Ingredients

  • 1 lb dried beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups spicy cheese, grated
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the dried beef slices and sauté until they are browned and crispy.
  3. Add the chopped onion, diced tomatoes, and green chilies to the pan. Cook until the vegetables are soft.
  4. Stir in the turmeric, cumin, and coriander powders, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Add the grated spicy cheese to the pan and stir until it melts and forms a creamy sauce.
  7. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  8. Remove from heat and serve the Bhutanese Dried Beef with Cheese hot, accompanied by red rice.
