Ingredients
- 500g dried beef, thinly sliced
- 200g dried mushrooms, rehydrated and sliced
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Water
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onions, garlic, green chilies, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the dried beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in the turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, and chili powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and cook until they break down and form a thick sauce.
- Pour in enough water to cover the beef, then cover and simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Add the rehydrated mushrooms and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, adding more water if needed.
- Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
