Ingredients

  • 4 bratwurst sausages
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) of German beer
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the bratwurst sausages and brown them on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook until they are soft and golden, about 5 minutes.

  6. Pour in the beer and beef broth, then return the sausages to the skillet.
  7. Bring the liquid to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 45 minutes.
