Bihari-style Chicken Curry (बिहारी-स्टाइल चिकन करी)

Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 4-5 tbsp mustard oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat mustard oil in a pan and add chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the chicken pieces and cook until they are slightly browned.
- Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
- Whisk the yogurt and add it to the chicken. Cook for another 10 minutes.
- Add garam masala and green chilies. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
