Bihari-style Palak Chicken (बिहारी-स्टाइल पालक चिकन)

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups spinach (palak), finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  4. Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  5. Add turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
  7. Add the chopped spinach and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Palak Chicken is ready to be served hot with rice or roti.
