Bihari-style Palak Paneer (बिहारी-स्टाइल पालक पनीर)
Palak Paneer is a popular North Indian dish made with spinach and paneer. This Bihari-style version adds a unique twist to the classic recipe, making it a flavorful and nutritious dish.
Ingredients
- 500g spinach, washed and chopped
- 250g paneer, cubed
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Now, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
- Add the chopped spinach and cook until it wilts. Then, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool.
- Once cooled, blend the spinach mixture into a smooth paste. Return it to the pan and add water if needed to adjust the consistency.
- Add the cubed paneer and garam masala. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the flavors are well combined.
- Palak Paneer is ready to be served hot with roti or rice.
