Bihari-style Shahi Paneer (बिहारी-स्टाइल शाही पनीर)

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer, cubed
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup cashew paste
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add tomato puree and cook until the ghee separates.
  3. Now, add cashew paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fresh cream and sugar, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the paneer cubes and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
